Who we are

CoinsGeeks ("CoinsGeeks," "we," "us") operates coinsgeeks.com, a cryptocurrency market data, watchlist, and portfolio-tracking website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide, or — if you sign in with Google — your name, email address, and profile image as provided by Google. Account authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase.

Watchlist and portfolio data. If you're signed in, the coins you watch and any portfolio holdings/transactions you enter are stored against your account so they sync across devices. If you're not signed in, this same data is stored only in your browser's local storage and never reaches our servers.

Price alerts. If you're signed in and create price alerts, we store each alert against your account: the coin, the target price or percentage move, the direction, its status, and — once it triggers — when it triggered and at what price. When an alert triggers, we use your account email address to email you and, if you've enabled push notifications, to send a push notification.

Push notification subscriptions. If you enable browser push notifications, we store your browser's push subscription — the endpoint address and encryption keys issued by your browser's push service, and your browser's user-agent string. If you're signed in when you subscribe, the subscription is linked to your account so we can send you your alerts; otherwise it isn't linked to any account. Push messages are delivered through your browser vendor's push service.

Newsletter email address. If you subscribe to our newsletter using the signup form, we store the email address you enter and the date you subscribed. This is kept separately from your account — you don't need an account to subscribe — and is used only to send you the newsletter.

Usage and analytics data. We use Google Tag Manager to load the measurement and tracking tools on the site. Through it, the site currently runs:

Google Analytics 4, which measures how the site is used (pages visited, general engagement).
impact.com's tracking script, which tracks views and clicks on our affiliate and referral links so that referrals can be attributed to us (see "Affiliate and referral links" below). impact.com may set its own cookies or similar identifiers for this purpose.

Both of these run only if you accept Analytics in our cookie banner. Until you make a choice, or if you reject non-essential cookies, they don't run and no analytics cookies or identifiers are stored.

We also load site-ownership verification tags for Yandex Webmaster, Coinzilla, and Bitmedia. These load on every visit regardless of your cookie choice, because the ownership checks are performed by automated crawlers that can't respond to a cookie banner. They only add verification meta tags to the page and don't track visitors (the Yandex tag loads a small script from the jsDelivr CDN to add its tag).

We do not currently use Meta Pixel or any other advertising or remarketing tags.

Third-party market data. Cryptocurrency prices, market caps, and related data displayed on CoinsGeeks are sourced from CoinGecko's public API. We don't control and aren't responsible for the accuracy of this third-party data.

Advertising. CoinsGeeks has designated ad slots, but third-party advertising is not yet active: we do not currently use an advertising network, and no ad-network cookies or tracking run on the site. The slots currently show either an "Advertisement Space Available" placeholder or a sponsored banner for one of our exchange referral partners (currently Kraken); clicking a banner takes you to that exchange's website (see "Affiliate and referral links" below). If we start using an advertising network, we will update this policy to name it and describe the data it collects.

Affiliate and referral links

Some links on CoinsGeeks — including exchange "Buy" buttons on coin listings and coin detail pages — are referral/affiliate links. If you sign up or trade through one of these links, CoinsGeeks may earn a commission from the exchange. This does not cost you anything extra, and it does not influence the market data, rankings, or rating information displayed on the site. Referral relationships currently include Binance, Kraken, OKX, Bitget, and Gate.com.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (keeping you signed in) and for analytics and affiliate-link tracking (via Google Tag Manager; see "Usage and analytics data" above). We do not currently use advertising cookies, because advertising is not yet active on the site (see "Advertising" above). You can choose whether to allow analytics cookies in our cookie banner, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality like staying signed in.

Your rights and choices

You can access, update, or delete your account and its associated watchlist/portfolio data at any time in your account settings, via the Delete my account option — this permanently deletes your watchlist, portfolio transactions, price alerts, push notification subscriptions linked to your account, and sign-in credentials, and cannot be undone. If you're in the EU/UK or California, you may have additional rights (access, deletion, portability, objection to processing) under GDPR or CCPA respectively — contact us at legal@coinsgeeks.com to exercise these.

Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your watchlist, portfolio transactions, price alerts, push notification subscriptions linked to your account, and sign-in credentials are deleted immediately and permanently. A newsletter subscription is separate from your account — it's tied to the email address, not the account — so it stays in place until you unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email. A push subscription created while you were signed out isn't linked to any account, so deleting your account doesn't remove it; you can remove it by turning off notifications for the site in your browser.

Children's privacy

CoinsGeeks is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email above.

International users

CoinsGeeks may be accessed from outside the United Arab Emirates. By using the site, you consent to your information being processed in the United Arab Emirates, where we are based, and in the United States and Australia, where our infrastructure providers operate: the website is hosted by Vercel in the United States (Washington, D.C.), and account, watchlist, and portfolio data is stored with Supabase in Australia (Sydney). Some of our other service providers, such as those for analytics and email delivery, may also process data in other countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and we'll communicate material changes to registered users by email.
